Submission
Definition: To line up under
1.)
Submit to
God – Proverbs 9:10, Romans 14:11
John 5:19
Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most
assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees
the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee
from you.
2.)
Children
submit to parents – Ephesians 6:1-3, Luke 2:51,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is
right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first
commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you and you
may live long on the earth."
3.)
Submit to
government - Mark 12:17, Romans 13: 1-4
And Jesus answered and said to them, "Render to Caesar
the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And
they marveled at Him.
4.)
Submit to
workplace bosses – Ephesians 6: 5,6
Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters
according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to
Christ; not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants
of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
5.)
Submit to
church leaders - Hebrews 13:17
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they
watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with
joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
6.)
Men submit
to Christ – 1 Corinthians 11:3
But I want you to know that the head of every man is
Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
7.)
Wives
submit to husbands – Genesis 3:16, Ephesians 5:22,23
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For
the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He
is the Savior of the body.
8.)
Submit to
one another – Ephesians 5:21, Philippians 2:2-4
Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love,
being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish
ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better
than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own
interests, but also for the interests of others.
